BRIEF HISTORY OF JOSEPH PILATES
Joseph Pilates was a man who suffered many physical obstacles as a child. He practiced all forms of Eastern and Western exercise, which led him to developing his own philosophy of a physical and mental well-being. The dance community was the first to embrace Pilates' method back in the early 1920's. Over the many years, people from all walks of life have discovered the many benefits of Pilates as a fitness program. It has been a tool for everyone from the average day fitness enthusiast to the professional athlete. Today, hospitals and physical therapy centers worldwide integrate Pilates into the rehabilitation programs.
A BRIEF HISTORY OF PHOEBE MILLER
Phoebe Miller received her BFA in dance from University of the Arts in Philadelphia. There she studied technique, anatomy, kinesiology, pedagogy, and Pilates. Her studies in Pilates continued in New York where she started training with well known instructor, Linda Farrell. She then went on to earn her certification from the Kane School of Core Integration where she also studied anatomy with Kelly Kane.In addition to her personal sessions, you can find Phoebe teaching Pilates Mat classes around the city; dance studios, gyms, and yoga centers. Outside of the city, she has taught at universities and spas along the East coast. You may have also seen Phoebe performing with such prestigious dance companies as Parsons Dance Company and Synthesis Dance Project. Currently, she is a member of the emerging Amy Marshall Dance Company.

Phoebe creates sessions tailored to her clients fitness and lifestyle needs. She incorporates exercises from Pilates mat, Yoga, and dance. Sessions can be conducted in the comfort of your own home, office, or gym.
