BIOGRAPHY OF VARTAN VARTALI

Vartan Vartali, owner of Vartali hair salon, is a master of the cut. He started his career in Europe over 35 years ago, and was involved with platform hair shows in Paris. He received many Coupe Du Monde sawards by the Confederation Mondiale De La Coiffure Institute (World Hair cutting Institute).

In 1976, he moved to New York. He has been successfully running his own hair salon for over 24 years. "Clean, shiny beautifully cut hair paired with the most flattering hair color is the basis of the perfect look," he says to achieve it, "I follow the texture of hair and give the most versatile cut possible for easy care and manageability."

His work and ideas have been in such high fashion magazines as Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Allure and NY Times Style section among others. In addition Vartan works closely with many corporate image makers to update professional women for the workplace "You don't have to look boring just because you're in the corporate setting, your haircut and color has to make you feel professional, sexy and powerful".

He also prides himself on having a keen understanding of great talents and loves working with his team. In his opinion his biggest accomplishment in his career has been discovering young talented hairdressers and colorists and building their confidence to achieve their goal in their career. Many of the employees at Vartali started as assistants and are senior colorists and haircutters now. "What helped our reputation as the Onice salon" is the fact that we all love being in the creative atmosphere of Vartali, the proof" says manager Houri "is the fact that most of our employees have been here for at least 10 years.
