Losing Louie:

Manhattan Theatre Club presents the American premiere of Simon Mendes da Costa's new play, Losing Louie. The following description is from the show's press release: "How do our childhood memories affect our lives? How do the mistakes of one generation impact the next? And most importantly, why does love make us do such crazy things? Interwoven events from the past and present blend together in this new play, as two generations of family members work things out in the same bedroom, 50 years apart."

Translations:

Manhattan Theatre Club presents a revival of Brian Friel's play Translations. (MTC produced the New York premiere back in 1981, as well.) Clashing cultures and tragedies of miscommunication unfold in the invented Irish county of Ballybeg in this play that explores the power of language to unite and divide people in a time of cultural imperialism. Watch for info on casting.
