Fenway: Last of the Bohemians:
Boomerang Theatre Company and Impetuous Theater Group present Fenway: Last of the Bohemians, a new play inspired by Chekhov's Uncle Vanya, written by Kelly McAllister and Lisa Margaret Holub. The following synopsis is provided by the director, Tim Errickson: "It's 1986, and conservatism is sweeping the nation. On a small hippie commune, Fenway and his fellow refugees from the 60s are doing their best to ignore the outside world. When their revered, exiled leader re-emerges as a 'born-again conservative' with a young Republican trophy wife in tow, chaos ensues. Can the ideals of the Aquarian Age stand up to the glitter of Reaganomics?"

To Be Loved (starts November 30)
This is a new play by Alex DeFazio (Radium). A reworking of the classic Kabuki tale The Scarlet Princess of Edo (1813) by Tsuruya Namboku, To Be Loved traces the story of a monk haunted by the death of the boy he loved, whose soul is reincarnated in the body of a young female prostitute-an uncanny turn of events which sets the events of the play in motion against a stark, futuristic landscape whose totalitarian attitudes toward freedom and sexuality bear a striking resemblance to our contemporary world.
